Last year we were delighted to see the return of colour. Most of our clients were asking for colour, pattern and texture in their homes to express their personal taste. This year colour moves on again with bold green tones becoming popular and colour blocking for the brave!

1. Colour blocking

Italian trend setters Studio Pepe have shown how to use several colours a within a room. Don’t be constricted by where the walls start and stop. Add a mustard flash to a room of teal and white or mix lilacs with brick, beautifully shown in the images below.

2. Modern craft

In the age of instant gratification there is a renewed demand for traditional crafts. These timeless skills are being used in modern design for a beautiful contrast. This detailed murano glass mosaic panel is by CaCO3.

3. Black and White

Bold and fresh, black and white is bang on trend. Use it in art as accessories as we have in this Georgian apartment, or try bold striking cushions or bed sheets in black and white geometrics

4. Forest Green

Colour has returned to nature and dark green is becoming more and more popular. We have seen many examples of dark green kitchens recently and are now seeing dark green upholstery and painted rooms. This colour looks particularly good when contrasted with copper or brass metals. Zoffany have just launched a new green paint called poison. It was inspired by the patination of oxidised copper.
