Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I hire an interior designer?

Whether you have you own ideas but don’t know how to pull them together, you lack inspiration and don’t know where to start or you simply don’t have enough time, we can help. A professional designer can provide the technical support and know-how to deliver a successful, hassle free project. You can avoid costly mistakes and potentially add value to your home.

A designer knows where to source everything related to your home. This will save you endless amounts of time researching products, brands and prices. We have built up an extensive supplier base which means we can suggest many unique items for your home that are not available locally or to the public. Our network includes expert craftsmen, soft furnishing makers, cabinet makers and builders.

We will work with you to understand your style and taste and then deliver a beautiful scheme that is personalised to you.

Can anyone call themselves an interior designer?
In short, yes, so it is very important to ensure your designer has professional qualifications or is a member of the British Institute of Interior Design. You should also ensure they have professional indemnity insurance, have clear terms and conditions and can show you a portfolio of past projects.
How can a designer help with the practicalities of building works?
We regularly work for clients who are based overseas or are too busy to be closely involved with their renovation. We produce schedules for use on site and can liaise with architects and builders on your behalf. If required we can be on site every day and give you feedback on progress.
Do you work with any particular style?
We pride ourselves on listening closely to our clients ideas and dreams for their home and delivering a personalised scheme for them. All of our projects are different and tailored to our clients tastes. We have experience of work on many different properties, from Scottish castles, listed Georgian buildings and modern new builds. We will make suggestions and show you ideas that you might not have thought of and incorporate these into a beautiful scheme.
How much will it cost?
Fees can be calculated on an hourly basis or as a fixed project fee. There are no hidden charges. When sourcing furnishings we charge the recommended retail price and do not mark up above that. We are good at what we do and can often make your budget stretch further.
How do we get started?

Initially we will carry out a consultation with you to establish your requirements and what the project will entail. From this we will be able to give you an estimate of the project fee.

We then take a clear brief for the project and initial measurements. We will discuss styles, colour schemes, design options, budgets and other relevant details.

All of this information is all used to create a detailed design for you. We will select all pieces fo furniture, design any cabinetry, confirm soft furnishings, colour schemes and lighting plans. This is presented with a detailed breakdown of costs in line with your budget.

Once this is signed off and we have a timeline in place we then progress with the planning and ordering stage. We can liaise with contractors on site and keep you updated throughout.
