Typical of many Scottish living rooms, this room is north facing and had a particularly dark and cold feel to it.  Our client’s brief was for us to bring the room a ‘warm and cosy Scottish ambiance’.

Colour and fabric became our main focus for this redesign, combining textures to create inviting comfort.  Using a combination of ‘warm’ blues, whites and creams alongside a burnt orange we created a colour palatte.  Tactile fabrics and wallpapers were chosen from velvets to soft herringbone tweeds and more contemporary patterns.  Whilst the scalloped upholstered pelmet and curtains bring luxury and softness to the window.

Installing bespoke cabinetry to the alcoves surrounding the fireplace, allows for vital storage as well as bringing balance and symmetry to the room.  A new fire surround and glass fronted wood effect inset finishes the room.

This is the second project for an existing client, having previously designed a large kitchen/living room and bedroom for them.
