This Grand Country House is surrounded by 450 acres of woodland and rolling fields. It has stood proudly in the Scottish countryside for over 200 years. We were commissioned to redesign part of the house to make it a home for the current generation. The design brief was to create an up-to-date home whilst keeping the classic, traditional style.
The property had a surprisingly small and dark kitchen for its size. We moved the kitchen into a larger room to allow for more open plan living with lots of natural light. We designed and commissioned bespoke cabinetry for the kitchen and bespoke chairs and dining table. A fine hand knotted rug and artwork was selected with our artisan suppliers.
The old kitchen was transformed into a cosy snug with aged wooden panelling and bookcases designed to fit the client’s collection of antique leather-bound books. This room looks as though it has been part of he house for decades. To complete this design, we selected gorgeous antique brass fittings, an aged fireplace and traditional style bespoke furniture.
Whilst the rooms feel cosy and inviting, there is also a grand presence of bespoke furniture and a collection of antiques. With a plethora of beautifully presented rooms, this wonderful home really is the epitome of a Classic Country House.
