This five storey Chelsea townhouse is set in a quiet residential street near Harrods. It has been in the same family for many years and hadn’t been updated for decades. The house underwent a total renovation and redesign. The kitchen was moved to the first floor and the whole of the ground floor opened up to make one large entertaining space.
The family owned a delightful selection of antiques and art which we incorporated into the room designs. The inspiration for our design came from our client’s grandparents who had largely lived in the house. We were lucky enough to have many of their artworks including portraits of them which have pride of place in the dining room.
The design brief was to create a smart London home which was sympathetic to the style of the Grandparents’ tastes. We used both masculine and feminine influences in the rooms and have created a classic home packed with personality. It was a delight to work on such a historic project and a second commission from this client.
