From the Press

Scotland on Sunday – September 2016

“We found Sally by chance through a friend of a friend” Jane explains. ” I didn’t consciously go out and look for an interior designer, but when Sally came on board I found her help invaluable. I knew which colours I wanted – lots of greens and blues. Sally was able to interpret that in a way to create exactly the look and feel that I wanted. It’s great to have a colour in your head but sometimes it can be quite difficult to find that exact shade. Sally could and did”
“Sally was a great help with materials” says Jane. ” It really is a minefield out there once you start looking and I think she really met the brief. It’s hard to choose a favourite space now as it all works and flows so well.”

Your Home magazine – September 2016

When a friend suggested she talk to an interior designer, Pamela was less than keen. ‘With so much unexpected expenditure I didn’t see the point but, to please my friend, I talked to Sally Homan of Robertson Lindsay Interiors. Eventually, impressed, I asked her to help with the living room.’ Pamela was so pleased with the results, she decided it would be less stressful and time consuming to let Sally coordinate the renovation of the hall, stairs and landing, living/dining room, cloakroom, two bedrooms and bathroom.
‘It was such a relief to collaborate with someone who would not only make inspirational suggestions but co-ordinate with trusted tradesmen. And it was worth every penny to see the house I grew up in mature into a beautiful home.’

Scottish Field – Autumn 2015

Sally Homan has transformed a once drab apartment in Edinburgh’s New Town into a haven of glamour and sophistication. ‘With my clients, I like to put their personality into their homes, so all our projects are different. I like to travel so I took inspiration from that when doing my own home. There’s a blend of French and Eastern influences and I sourced items from all over – there are American, French and Asian pieces in there.’

Ideal Home Magazine Bathroom feature – August 2014

“Sally and I looked through my wardrobe to see which colours I prefer. She then created bathroom designs based on my tastes. She had noticed that I like pinks and soft greys which inspired the choice of tiles and paints. I find the colours very soothing and because they are based on colours I wear they reflect my personality. It’s a bespoke sanctuary that I can escape to when I want to relax”

“Sally’s scheme is reminiscent of a holiday home in Hamptons where the natural elements seen outside are as important as the soft furnishings inside. Tongue and groove features throughout; painted in mellow Farrow & Ball tones. It gives the property a light be achy vibe…..Long island luxury.”

Feedback from Clients

It might be wonderful if you can browse around in the Chelsea Design Centre or spend days collecting samples of fabrics and wallpapers but for most of us, there is just not enough time. Choosing fabrics, paper and paint online is hopeless as the colours are not real enough and there is nothing to touch and feel. But when you have got Sally’s team to hand, all these problems are solved. She has the fabric, paper and paint samples plus loads of wonderful ideas, and it is like a one-stop shop because she can order everything too.

You guys have been truly OUTSTANDING. You’ve held out hands, nudged, pushed, delivered and created real magic. All with smiles and a great deal of patience. We are totally in love with our home… and you as well actually!

I was delighted with the service and would happily recommend you. If I hadn’t had any advice I probably wouldn’t have even started the project yet!

I used Robertson Lindsay last year to do my sitting room although initially I was not convinced that I needed a designer. The end result was a very beautiful, elegant room, which I loved so much that this year I used Sally’s services for the rest of the house (ex kitchen which does not need work yet).
I had the choice of whether only to use Sally’s design flair or for her to manage the project also. I asked her to manage the whole project as I could not have co-ordinated all the tradesmen. It made the whole thing so easy as any problems, scheduling or other, were not mine.
I received estimates for costs before we started and the actual costs were pretty close plus I was given a regular breakdown once the project was underway so I always knew where I was financially.
Another consideration is the fact that I neither have the patience to look for fabrics, lamps etc nor any idea of where to look.
It isn’t easy having one’s house re-vamped but Robertson Lindsay took so much of the stress out of it for me and I now have a very beautiful house, which I could not have achieved by myself.

Working with Robertson Lindsay was a delight. Sally offered direct access to a wide range of commercial products that would have been very difficult to source privately. Without her, the project would have been completed more slowly, less satisfactorily and with a great deal more stress and expense. The atmosphere of calm and relaxation, which we were aiming for, is the single most striking achievement of Robertson Lindsay, commented upon by everybody who has viewed the premises. Robertson Lindsay took the hassle out of our hands and produced a great end result

I enjoyed (and benefited tremendously) from a very personal service. Very responsive at all times. Constant follow up and suggestions, when hitting difficult areas. Very practical – in terms of not limiting the work to the design element. Invaluable in terms of running the project to completely renovate and restore my listed flat. I had no hesitation on instructing the firm to work on a second project
Owner , Client - Overseas
Robertson Lindsay were very good at interpreting my style and making design suggestions based on that. Lots of friends have commented in particular on the overall look and how the design flows throughout and that the design is very “me”!” As someone with no knowledge of interior design, Robertson Lindsay introduced me to a world of suppliers that I had no idea existed and from whom I would never ordinarily have made purchases. It was great to have so much advice and hand-holding in relation to such important spending decisions and to have somebody to pull together the various threads of the project. Robertson Lindsay provide a very professional service from start to finish.

Sally Homan from Robertson Lindsay Interiors has been advising me on my flat in Highgate, London. The service is impeccable and combines the ability to design elegant, stylish spaces with incredible efficiency. I couldn’t recommend Robertson Lindsay more highly – professional, friendly, efficient and reliable – I would use them again in an instant. They have also helped my parents with their home in the Lake District turning a very tricky bedroom into a beautiful elegant space.
Miss Burchett, Client - London
I hired Robertson Lindsay to interior design my sitting room and vestibule and would highly recommend them. The sitting room is the main entertaining space within a Victorian terrace house in central London. Her ideas were very creative and she was careful to give consideration to all factors throughout the process. They understood the brief extremely well and presented options on all elements and guided us throughout. They suggested ideas and designs about the carpentry, which made a huge difference to the room. We retained a few original elements from the room, which were updated and added bespoke new furniture, furnishings and accessories. The end result is a beautiful and contemporary room which fits with our lifestyle and also showcases the house to its potential.
